Peters is a correspondent for Slate, the Web’s oldest and most popular daily online magazine, where he writes about crime, technology, and culture. 

He is also a contributing editor at the Columbia Journalism Review (CJR), the world’s preeminent journal of media criticism and analysis, where he edits and frequently contributes to the magazine’s acclaimed Ideas + Reviews section. He is a three-time finalist for the Mirror Award, which recognizes excellence in media reporting and commentary. He regularly appears on television and radio on behalf of Slate and CJR, and speaks on and moderates panels at conferences around the world.
